How to Renew a License

Out of state contractors with employees working in WV must provide proof of Workers Compensation and Unemployment as soon as your online renewal process has been completed. This information can be sent via facsimile to (304) 558-5174.

Those who already possess a current contractor license may use a VISA, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express card to renew their license.

To use the electronic renewal option, you will be asked to certify that you are in good standing and compliance with…

Office of the Insurance Commissioner's Employer Coverage Unit
(Workers Compensation)

(304) 558-6279
Secretary of State (If applicable) (304) 558-8000
State Tax Department (304) 558-3333
Wage Bonding (If applicable) (304) 558-7890 Ext.10475

Once received by the Labor Division, the information you provide on the following pages will be processed and validated.  If all your information is correct, you should receive your new license within a few days.

If we are unable to process your renewal, you will be informed of the reasons for denial and asked to correct any problems.  If your contractor license non-compliance issues are not resolved within fifteen (15) days of the renewal date, a $25 fee will be assessed.

This Online Renewal Process allows you to renew your Contractor's License with the West Virginia Division of Labor's Contractor Licensing Board. Upon receiving payment your information will be verified and a license issued if you are in compliance. At this time we only accept credit card payments for contractor license renewals via this website. We do not accept credit cards by phone. In the very near future we hope to expand this service to other types of payment. Please check the main web site for updates.
