CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY
ANNUAL INSPECTION AND SAFETY TEST
A West Virginia approved inspector shall not inspect any Device on which:
1. the inspector has made repairs or provided routine maintenance during the previous inspection cycle (12 months), or 2. his or her employer, or any employee of his or her employer, has made or provided routine maintenance during the previous inspection cycle (12 months).
A West Virginia approved inspector shall not inspect any device that is maintained by a company in which:
1. the inspector has an ownership interest; or
2. a member of the inspector's immediate family has an ownership interest.
An owner of an elevator inspection company, and all West Virginia approved inspectors working for that company, shall not inspect any device that is maintained by:
1. an individual who is a member of the inspector's immediate family; or
2. a company in which a member of the inspector's immediate family has an ownership interest.
ACCEPTANCE INSPECTION
A West Virginia approved inspector shall not perform an acceptance inspection on any devise for which:
1. the inspector was involved in any capacity in the installation (other than as consulting inspector), or
2. his or her employer, or any employee of his or her employer, was involved in any capacity in the installation (other
than as consulting inspector).
A West Virginia approved inspector shall not perform an acceptance inspection for any device that is installed by a company in which:
1. the inspector has an ownership interest; or
2. a member of the inspector's immediate family has an ownership interest.
An owner of an elevator inspection company, and all West Virginia approved inspectors working for that company, shall not perform
1. an individual who is a member of the inspector's immediate family; or
2. a company in which a member of the inspector's immediate family has an ownership interest.
