Closing Out Sales
The “Closing-Out Sales, Fire Sales and Defunct Business Sales Act” exists to ensure that businesses who wish to advertise a closing or business termination sale, do so consistent with the guidelines provided in the law. This program ensures that advertising is not conducted in a manner that would tend to mislead, defraud or otherwise harm the public, and that those who advertise in a manner to indicate termination of activities at a location are actually doing so.
